Just as Empedocles threw himself into his volcano, Daniel de Saint-Yon immersed himself 50 years ago in the “human bondage” of passions to explore all its shadows and lights.

He is going to tell us today in words and images the burning thread of this singular, totally atypical story, of hearts in disarray and bodies in disarray !

 

“For a very long time no doubt, man has never stopped trying to oust this animal, natural part, which is in him.
Now, if the human has gradually been endowed with a thought, it is always in a body that remains almost identical to that of its oldest ‘ancestors’.
This is precisely what I seek today to represent in my “stark naked” beyond art:
this simple, animal state, with all the details of its sex, to render its true nature and animality to our “desexualized” and “denatured” bodies.
This last step seems obvious to me. It has become necessary for me and going through it will be a joy that I wish to share.” Daniel de Saint-Yon
